Kojic Soap



KOJIC SOAP is a skin whitening ingredient developed in Japan. It is a by product of the fermentation of rice that produces "sake", the popular Japanese wine.

It works by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase from converting tyrosine to eumelanin. MELANIN is the black pigment responsonsible for skin darkening.

What is Kojic acid?
Kojic acid was discovered as a natural product derived form a mushroom in Japan in 1989. It has been successfully used to lighten pigment spots and skin discoloration and considered as a kind of popularly specialized inhibitor for melanin. Kojic acid can prevent the tyrosinase activity through synthesizing reaction with its antioxidant properties after penetrating upper skin layers and entering skin cells to inhibit the formation of pigment at the deep cells on the skin.
